Hi, i have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee I have desided to install a remote alarm/starter in. I'm told I need a special module to interface with the remote lock system or i can damage my Jeeps computer.

I need a "sentry" key bypass kit also but I want one with out the use of a spare coded key.

What Items do I need to make this remote alarm/starter kit to work.

I see items like data buss bypass kits also.

Any help is appreicated.

Thank you

Thanks for the info.

Sorry if I seem confused, but to be sure is this JDL-PK  kit is all I need for the remote start and door locks ?

or do I need to get both kits the JDL and the JDL-PK?

Also does this kit temporaily disable the Sentry key system during remote start or when installed it will permently disable the Sentry kti system?

Thanks again.

The JDL-PK is an all in one kit that bypasses the Sentry and also the transponder chip in the key so you can remote start the Jeep. The JDL only bypasses the sentry system but not the Trnasponder Key. The JDL-PK does not disable the Sentry system at all. It merely piggybacks the system so that you can add a different controller ( your remote start remote control ) onto it's system so you can control the Sentry with the RS remote  as well as the OEM remote control.
