i really need some expert advise. So it started becase i was replaceing the remote functions modual in my chevrolet cavalier. This is the first thing i have done in cars that is not sound related. It started out looking like a simple task. All the relays are already there, all the relay leads are already run to one spot. I sould just be able to hook it up and start unlocking. well once all my wireing was done ( i never touched any wire not hooked up to the stock moduel in the first place) my pop trunk by remote and my unlock by remote worked. but my lock completely stopped working. even the switch on the door wont lock my car anymore. when i hit lock all that happens is i hear the relay clicking under the dash, but doors dont lock. i dont think it is a fuse but im not sure. please help me!!!!!!!

How did you hook up the relay ? If it's a non keyless it should have been 5 wired into the car.

there was a blue wire running to the old stock remote box. after process of elimination i found it to be the wire conecting to the relay in the car. when i touched the blue wire to a +12volt constant , the doors locked. well after like three locks, they stopped working. so i was just wondering what is up. all relays minus the trunk are the stock relays that the car came with. but i have had no problems with the unlock, just lock. it is completely messed up. i have to manually throw all 4 locks on each door. so i am just trying to see if someone knows what i might of done.
hey, everyone has got to start somewhere. but ill learn

if it doesn't have keyless the system is reverse polarity, but controlled from the passenger side, not the drivers switch. if it has keyless check the module at the rear drivers side in the trunk.

yeah, i know. that is where i am getting all the wires from is the module in the trunk. but now i found what i think the problem is. There is only 3 volts going to the lock  but 12 going to the unlock. The lock donst work but the unlock dose. But i am still new at this so i dont know what is causing this. I think it may be a bad relay down in the passenger floorboard under the dash that is causing it. Dose any think this is possible or am i completely wrong
