The tweeters are surface mounted for now but they will be flush mounted in the spot where I have them mounted already. Just in case anyone was wondering.

You should have put some type of divider in there. Sorry but that will probably sound like crap, and could potentionally damage one or both speakers. Once you flush the tweeter you will blow it as well.

I have not yet put in the divider.  I am planning on doing that.  The 6.5 and the tweeters are hooked up right now and they sound fine.  I have to get my amp fixed before the 8's get hooked up.  I do understand the 2 different subs or speakers inside the same enclosure playing different parts of the music will damage the speakers.

Get that done and isolate the tweeter from the airspace and then you should be good for sound.
