2003 Dodge Caravan

I posted earlier about Metra or Scosche speaker adpaters for 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan.  The adapters are new and have recently changed, so Metra and Scosche technical support confirm no part is available yet.   So, I cut the adapters and wired the  new aftermarket speakers. However, I don't have wiring info, and I'm not sure I wired them correctly. Two questions I have:

(1) Anyone have speaker wiring color codes for 2003 Dodge Caravan?

(2) The dash speakers have two wires for negative and two wires for positive. The door speaker and rears just have one wire for each, as is typical. Any special treatment for the dash speakers?

(1) Anyone have speaker wiring color codes for 2003 Dodge Caravan? Sorry, nothing for speaker color codes on these vehicles. If the plug in the rear is the same as the earlier models then chances are there is no difference and you can use the previous years color codes.

(2) The dash speakers have two wires for negative and two wires for positive. The door speaker and rears just have one wire for each, as is typical. Any special treatment for the dash speakers? The two wires are probably for a set of tweeters and a set of woofers. I'm not sure if the signal is a full range signal to the component set. Check to see if the tweeters have crossovers attached to the side of the speakers. If there are then you know that the signal is full range for both sets of speakers.

(1) Unfortunately, the plugs in the rear are different than earlier model years. In fact, I sent Metra, Scosche and Crutchfield an illustration of the plug, and they all said it is too new, and no adapter exists yet.  The wiring charts I've seen for other 2002 Dodges are different (although I haven't seen a 2002 Dodge Caravan chart yet).  If no 2003 chart is available, it would be helpful if soemone had a 2002 Caravan chart.

(2) As for the dual wiring in the dash, here the strange thing -- the four wires go into a single OEM plug,  joined as two pairs.  So, they are a full signal.  I just don't understand why they have four wires --- except that the dash and door speakers are wired on the same channel. After thinking about it, I suspect the extra set of wires is simply a pair of leads running to the downstream door speakers.  Two wires coming in from the head unit, and two wires going out to the next set of speakers.

FL+=DK.GREEN

FL-=BROWN / RED

RF+=PURPLE

RF-= DL. BLUE/RED

RL+=BROWN / YELLOW

RL-=BRPWN/LT.BLUE

RR+=DK.BLUE/WHITE

RR-=DK.BLUE/ORANGE

12V+C = PINK

12V+S= RED / WHITE

on many chrysler vehicles the dash speakers each have 2 neg. and 2 postive leads as chrysler typically runs there front outputs from the radio to the dash speakers first then off the dash speakers to the front doors...
