I have seen in magazines that some people i assume glass their headliner and paint it.  I have a 91 toyota pickup and the headliner seems to just be vinyl with some snaps on the ends to hold it up i guess. My question is how would i go about glassing it and reattaching it? thanks

Well just take it out, strip the vinyl, strip the foam, apply fiberglass(probably about 3 layers of just resin, use mat if cardboard is cracked), sand high spots, apply body filler, sand, sand, sand, prime, then paint.

im pretty sure my headliner is crappy and is only vinyl with a padding behind, i havent taken it down though to look.  How would i reinstall it, would the plastic button looking clamps still hold it?

As long as you aren't putting anying too heavy in the headliner ... such as EQs, LCDs, gauges ... the "plastic button looking clamps" should hold.

Well, if there is no backing then that is a different ball game.

its not just held up by the pop rivets. te plastic moulding on the pilars holds it up as well. on mine i just took it out and put fg right on top. but mine was cloth. you need to strip off the vinyl. dont use just resin as it will crack when you put it back in. use 3-4 layers of CLOTH( mat is too thick, and cloth is smoother = less sanding.) so far ive been sanding mine for ~13 hours and i still have ~4-5 to go. i just need to actually take it out of my car again to finish. for some pics, go HERE

Is it me? Or wouldn't it be really really hard to put a fg headliner back in the car without cracking it? I ask because I just put a suede headliner into a H2 and it had to be bent to put in.

I think I read on here a long time ago that they were telling a guy that.   That if it has to be bent a lot then it will probably crack, but if you can get it in w/o bending then you'll be fine.   I think thats what I read maybe im confused.
