I am trying to replace the stock head unit with a afermarket unit.  I bought the wiring harness and the wires are not in the correct slots.  Now my question is the stock harness has 1 ground (black & white) 1 power (large orange) and 1 small orange wire as well as the normal 8 speaker wires.  The only way to get my deck to turn on is by connecting both power wire to the 12v+ battery connector.  My main concern is, is there an ignition wire in the stock harness or do I have to run one to the actual ignition harness?

Would it be possible for someone to please post the correct wiring diagram for the harness.

Trust me I have been installing for years and never ran into a radio that doesn't have the pretty pink ign. wire. Thanks for your help.

Your vehicle doesn't have an accy wire, so you will have to either catch it from the fuse box or from the main accy harness.   GM did this to all of their 2000 and newer vehicles
Do it right the first time

sounds like you were sold the wrong harness as well. you will need a digital interface for your ride. that will allow you to keep your door delay and chime. metra's gmrc-01 should work , but i would check first. they carry a price tag around 100.
