I need all wiring info for a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis. I'm installing an alarm with remote start, keyless entry, and trunk pop. Any tips also appreciated.

I did a remote start for my Mom's '05 Grand Marquis about a month ago.  I'll look for my notes & post them later.  I used the PKF3 from Trilogix for the transponder bypass.  Here is a link to the bypass kit I used:  http://www.bypasskit.com/product.aspx?prodid=PKF3

It wasn't a difficult job, but I managed to make a few rookie mistakes.   It was the first car I had done which would not even crank the starter unless the transponder bypass was connected - I was expecting the engine to crank but not actually start.  At first, I thought I had done something wrong when the starter wouldn't crank.

Another thing that happened on this car was that one of the ignition wires was chafing against the steering column, causing a fuse under the hood to blow.  (I didn't allow enough for the motion of the tilt-wheel).

Lastly, another thing that I learned on this car was that I had to enroll all of the car's keys when doing the bypass.  A few days after finishing the job, I got a call from my mother, stranded in the parking lot at her work, saying that the car wouldn't start.  Turns out that she had used the remote starter in the morning on her way to work, but attempted to use the key alone on her way home.  Unfortunately, I had fogotten to program the car to that key, leaving her with one key that didn't work!  I told her to start the car with the remote, and meet me at her house.  Then I reprogrammed all of her keys.

All of my connections were done at the steering column. Here's what I have:

Start - Green

Accessory - WHITE/ Purple

According to my notes, there are four IGN wires:

PURPLE / Orange
GREEN/ Purple
WHITE/ Blue
Gray / YELLOW

Only two IGN wires are needed.  Sorry, but my notes are unclear on this part.  I think that they were:

IGN1 - PURPLE / Orange
IGN2 - GREEN/ Purple

Also, there is a Red wire which supplies a constant +12v

I hope that this helps.  If you find any discrepancies, please let me know.
