This might be a rather odd question, but I have seen that Lexus commercial a few times where the guy has some sort of transmitter in his pocket, and once he gets close to the car, the car recognizes that it's him and automatically unlocks the doors... I am looking for a different variation of that but along the same lines.

What I would like to find is a unit that would alow me to use a start button on my dash, but the button would only work if a certain transmitter were within say 5 feet of the car, or similar to that effect...

Anyone got anyideas how this would be accomplished, or if there is a ready made unit I could wire into my system to acheive that?

Thanks guys... The Saint

this is what I was talking about..... from a auto review site:  "Also optional is Lexus' SmartAccess keyless entry/starting system with pocket transmitter."

thanks, The Saint

If you install it, please post your results.  I am curious to hear some feedback about this unit.
