resonant engineering subs?

i have a friend in canada who says he might be able to get me an RE se 12" for cheap but how much do these usually cost? and if i did get it, would it be alright to run it with 900 rms in a 1.25 ft^3 ported to 32hz or 1 ft^3 sealed(not sure yet) RE recommends 600 rms but my amp (kenwood kac-x811d) is rated at 900 rms@ 2ohm w/ 14.4 volts so considering id be running 12 volts and it wont be up all the way, i think it would be alright, but im just makin sure. what do you guys think about amp and enclosure choice?blah blah blah blah

is the RE Sub, 600@4ohm or 600@2Ohm, for some reason i think 600@4Ohm is more accurate which means your 900@2ohm should be fine. but correct me if im wrong, ( just looked on the REaudio website and it doesnt say whether its 2 or 4ohm/

It is 600w, period. The subwoofer doesn't care whether it is 4 or 2 or 1 or 1,000,000 ohm. If the voice coil is pushed too hard it's pushed too hard. New Project: 2003 Pathfinder

RE subs are known for being able to take more watts then they advertise. I dont think you will have any problem as long as you keep the gain and vol. at a reasonable level.

re subs are pretty expensive if you can get one for cheap go ahead. as for the amp I have this model and Im running a fosgate p3 500rms 1000 peak, I have the gaines all the way down and it hits hard as hell. just  give the sub what you need. turn your system up to normal listening and adjust your gains on your amp, turn off the bass on your desk and let the amp do the work, this amp is very efficent but needs at least 2 guage wire and a good ground. i have this amp wired at 1 ohm and does very well

RE subs tend to be expensive, but not outrageoulsy so. They are greared more towards SPL then SQ, but from what ive heard they excel in both catagoreys. They are also know for being able to handle much more then their rms on a regular basis.
