Hi guys ive been a member here at the 12 volt for a long time and everybody seems to know alot. My question is about a basic but good car alarm. I really don't want all the bells and whistles. I just want to know what you guys would recommend. all I want is an alarm and some remote door unlocks thanks.

There are tons of alarms that could meet your requirements.  My recommendation would be to choose a alarm from an accomplished manufacture.  With that being said, visit www.dei.com.  I'm certain that you would be please with any of their "basic" alarms.

If your wanting to install yourself, DEI doesn't offer warranty for any product installed by anyone other than an authorized dealer. Doesn't mean that the product is not good, but be warned that if anything should go wrong with the installation, your hooped. Personal preference goes to Compustar 1WAM-A for a basic alarm & keyless entry system.
