is anyone else fed up with this ??? i like this site but i think it should be on default no and we change it if we want . and would'nt it be cheaper for bandwith usage??? not trying to complain just bugs me!!!! and yes i clicked on no....

well i believe the email is handle by a different server from what the forum is on. so that would not affected the bandwith on this server. but the best person to ask would be The12Volt. the email has really just started working again in the past month or so, well atleast from what i get. so i find really no problem with the email. a lot of people on the forum like the email and thats why it is defaulted to yes.

securinu, I pay a flat rate for bandwidth, so it wouldn't be any cheaper or faster even if I eliminated email all together which runs on a seperate server anyway. Most members prefer the email notification defaulting to yes. The only reason we ask for your email address other than for email notification is for you to recieve your password if you ever forget it. In the future I may add a preference that you can select when you edit your profile for this feature, but until that time you can disable email notification by removing your email address from your profile.

thanks not trying to be a pain , i just get so much e-mail it get to be a little out of control , i mod on a couple of different boards and i cant opt out on admin e-mails so i have to look at all to determine if it is junk or not. oh well by the way this is a great board very imformative . have you considered doing banner ads??? if so i am interested for my company .
