I have a prostart 3300 that i'm going to install, but before i start i wanted to clear up a couple of things.  I'm installing the system into a 98 mercury sable

- how do i interface the (-) arm output and the (-) disarm output into the car  (and basically what there function is please)

-the secondary harness and the accessories harness both have parking light wires one (-) one (+), do i hook then both up, or just the one in the secondary harness

-what is the function of the (-) ground out while running, and how can i use it in my install

Thank you for your consideration

You'd think a mobile dynamics grad would know this stuff    lol

(-)arm & disarm are for the control of a factory alarm, so that way when you go to start the car, it does not trigger the factory alarm and it will even rearm the alarm after its running... so you probley dont need it.

the positive and negative parking light wires are just that, for either positive or negative parking lights. If you have a positive parking light wire, use the positive. if negative parking light wire, use negative wire

ground while running could be to control somthing, like the defroster for example. something that one would turn on while the car was running

Most override or security modules require a ground while running to trigger.

It useually hits before the "start" and runs during and a couple of seconds after the start and run time...

thanks for your help....but this car does have a factory alarm, so i would need the arm and disarm...plus i think i might need the ground out to interface into a PATS system override

thanks alot

I agree that you need a PATS bypass. If you use the module where you dont loose a key, it can be a serious pain ! Cuz you have to get the eye just right, if it moves then you gotta take it apart and remount it ! And you need 2 keys so you can program it. I would recomend using the hide a key module.

Yes you need to hook up a disarm and if you want a arm wire. I can only (because my resource does not give a arm wire) give you the disarm wire:

pink/white   (- neg polarity) located in the  drivers kick panel

You only need to hook the ARM & DISARM wires if your car has OEM alarm system. To test, lock the car with the OEM remote FOB and have the window open on the driver's side. Wait about 1 minute and manually unlock the driver's door and open it. If the lights flash and horn honks you have an alarm, then you will use these wires and hook them up to the OEM wires to control the system. Otherwise, these wires will not be used.

The Sable has the PATS sytem on it and requires a univeral bypass module to remote start purposes. Use the ground out when running wire to turn this module on only during remote start.

thanks for everyones help on this project, its officially my first remote start installation on my own as a certified installer...

everything worked first try, i was surprised to see that i didn't require a PATS bypass module at all, i'm not sure why, all i know is that the key didn't have any sort of resistor chip in it or anything because it was just a small metal key (no big black box on the top or anything).  the only wires i didn't hook up were the alarm arm and disarm wires, which proved to be unnecessary anyways.   all in all it was a success and thanks for your help again, it was appreciated

PS if you want to update your wiring diagrams for the 98 sable....   the accessory was  black / green     and there are 2 ignition 2's   which are grey / yel   and   blk / red

also the brake switch wire at the pedal wasn't a proper trigger but the red / green wire in the kick panel harness was

and one more was the trunk release  i had a negative trigger using the grey / red wire

peace
