I'm not sure about the neg door trigger wire , the wiring information I have says to connect it to a black /blue wire in driver kick panel, my problem is there are 3 BLACK/ blue wires there.Dose anyone know how I can test these wires so I know witch one to connect to.Should I have voltage (door open) between the BLACK/ blue wire and ground? 2000 Ford Focus the dome light stays on for a short time after door is closed

Look low in the driver kick panel. it be in a large connector

The largest connector has two BLACK/ blue wires in it one on top and one on bottom

is this the right place??? Mark

Go for the lowest one. your meter will show ground when open, this is for a negtive system. for a postive system 12v when door is open.

Ground when open? so continuity between wire and ground when open??

I'm not sure how to how to test for Ground?

put the positive lead of the DMM on 12volts... touch the negative lead of the DMM to the wire. If it's the right wire, your DMM will show 11.8 - 14volts. If it isn't, then it won't.

Also, you can test continuity between the wire (if it is truly supposed to be ground) and anything grounded in the vehicle. When the wire is suppoed to be grounded, then your DMM will read 0 ohms or really really close to it (i.e. 0.01, 0.02... depends on how accurate your DMM is.
