The job was finished up this morning.  It's hooked to the AUX input on the remote, with that channel set to pulse the relay. They apparently used one relay, with blocking diodes for the two channels.  Everything works flawlessly. Wahoo!!defroster from remote start Lexus rx300 - Page 2 -- posted image.

two channels ? you mean the wires you  ran from the circuit board ?

I think that enough of the content made it through so that you've got the idea.

They set up a single relay and blocking diodes to control both the defrost and defog circuits.  One channel on the 591XV provides a pulse to this relay to trigger the circuit on/off.  The AUX button on the remote has to be held until it beeps.  Sorry for any confusion.
