ok i finally got my old orion hcca 225 repaired but...

this f*cker pulls too many amps, with it hooked up to two dual 4 ohm twelves, at a 1 ohm load, it will dim my headlights very bad , its not too loud but my gain is down pretty far due to using a crappy crossover until i can get another, but then seems to lose volume when the voltage drops, which i guess is normal, do these suckers drink juice?

ima try to swap a 140 amp alt on soon

well if it is the really old school hcca 225 it should do 800x1 rms at 1 ohm.....but under rated.   I have an old 275r and it draws about 160 amps at peak at 1/2 ohm   my memphis hc 50 is comparable to the orion and it draws 60-80 amps at 1/2 ohm bridged.
