I have a stereo shop here in town that claims the Lightning audio amps they are selling (900 watts for 99 bucks! - SHYAH, RIGHT) are manufactured by Rockford Fosgate... Can anyone debunk this rumor for me?
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

and i hit my last lightening audio sub with an axe! (see post in fiberglass forum) the only reason i had the stuff was its cheaper to buy a dual 10" box with his crap in it than to just buy a dual 10" box (the store must have been trying to get rid of the garbage and was an incentive for custometrs to haul this crap off) free stuff is better than no stuff so i pushed it till it broke and hit it with an axe. (way more fun than a wall socket) thats my lightening audio story! ~Ryan

Lightning is indeed a Rockford Company...I've done some research on the newer LA stuff. Some people wont go near it, but others are really satisfied with the Strike series amps which i considered buying at one time, but decided it's probably better to spend the money on a more reliable name. Although LA is a Rockford Company..they are not Rockford quality. The LA Storm subs are a different story however...

Lightning Audio is owned by Rockford Corp.  They play the numbers game like everyone else in the industry.  Let everyone know when you try the good stuff!!!!  Check out the Storm 2000 D's....I dunno 149.5 db on the new meter sounds good pretty good to me......

Actually 149.5 would sound awful, loud but awful.
And that amp does produce 900 watts. When it is a car rolling down a hill, flying off a cliff, all while being struck by lightening.
Crap, I didn't know this thread was that old.
