eclipse subs

I am trying to get some specs on the 12" eclipse aluminum subs. First off these will be going in a 2000 Dodge Ram standard cab so mounting depth is a problem. Does anyone know the mount depth on these and also the recomended air space for a sealed enclosure. Also  I am open for suggestions on any high quality shallow mount subs.

another shallow mount is to look at the mtx 7500 series

Image Dynamics IDQ series has relatively shallow mounting depth too. SQ is high, but max output less than either the eclipse or mtx. The 12" is less than 6" deep and was designed for quality output in very small enclosures. New Project: 2003 Pathfinder

I appreciate the advice on the IDQ and actually considered them but I wanted a little more spl. Thanks for the specs wheeler and if anyone has an exact depth on these eclipse please post it.

An alpine type R is 7" deep

The SW8122DVC Eclipse subs which I have put out a very conservative 500watts RMS 1000watts Power handling per sub. They are capable of taking more wattage Eclispe under rates the subs on purpose...Eclipse "Approaching Perfection"

12" aluminum subs are exactly 5.5" deep. They require at least 1" of space between the back of the magnet and the back of the box, thus a total of 6.5" for mounting depth. The subs also need a minimum of 2" of clearance from the front of the box to any surface to allow for travel of the surround. 1.25 cu.ft. net volume internal in a sealed box is what will make these subs and you quite happy. Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Thanks for all the input everybody! To answer kfr's question, I plan on running 500-750 watts per sub probably mmats or u.s. amps.

I had a buddy of mine install 2 eclipse 10's under this rear seats, and had the amp installed under the drivers seat. It sounded pretty good, because it was a custom built enclosure for the woofers. Only bad thing was he needed a new head unit, and the signal wasn't quite clear enough..."I don't play games. I play Nakamichi and that for real yo" - Probably some japanese kid said this in the early 80's trying to sell stereo out of his trunk lol.
