I am installing remote start on my 94 pontaic sunbird and I need to determine which form of engine monitoring to use.  Either voltage or tachometer.  Can anyone help with this matter?  I think I should use the wire located at the ECM behind the glove box.  Is this correct??? Thank you for you help.

You should only ever use a tach signal to monitor an engine. The voltage way is a very poor way and prone to fail. The tach wire on your car is the white wire at the coil on the engine.
