Noise From Port

I got a long ported 10 in enclosure for my solo baric l5.

This box is kicking a.. But I get a whistling or some wierd a.. noise , whatever it is it's not bass...

Can somebody help me get rid of this noise...

Check the edges of your port to see if there is any rough edges or pieces of plastic that are sticking up, do you have any poly fill in the box? If thats not the prob w/ the port yo may have issues with the sub...but be thorough with going over the box, play it at a level that you can stand and fool around with the box with your ear next to it.

sounds like a typicaly round port that is ry looking into a vented enclosure

Hey i think Jeff is meaning to say look into using slot ports instead of round ports. Sounds like you are getting way to much port velocity. Make sure the edges of the ports are rounded, if that doesn't help you will most likely need to switch to slot ports, which Kicker recommends anyway.

instead of using a long, small diameter port, use a shorter larger diameter port. The intermal volume of the port needs to be the same for you to acheve the same ported Hz
