I installed an alarm/ remote starter on my 97 Honda civic and whenever I use the remote start, the car starts fine and a few seconds after it is running it tries to start again. I think that the problem has something to do with the wire running to the tachometer. I'm not sure if I have it hook up right. I've been told that the tach wire is a blue wire on the test connector on the firewall under the hood, but there are 2 blue wires and I'm not sure which one to use. One goes to a large wiring harness and the other goes to a small black rubber thing on the driver’s side fender. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

a lot of the honda's tack wire is the wire that goes to the black rubber thingy that you said and it has a cap on it.

I have hooked the tach wire up directly to the coil and the remote starter still continues to try to engage the starter a few seconds after the car has successfully started.

The alarm is an Commando FM 870 2-Way LCD car alarm w/remote start.

The Car is a 1997 Honda Civic w/automatic Transmission.

Did you program the tach on it?  I don't know about that remote starter but most you have to program the tach.  Maybe it is set for voltage drop or something?

the tach is a neg. input, just take the plug near the firewall on the drivers side of the engine bay and hook up the pos. from your volt meter and then use the black lead and test the two blue wires, the one that increases voltage while reaving the enging is the tach wire.
