I installed a boa 165b remote starter with a 555l bypass module and it worked fine when I got it all installed.  The morning after installation it started and died three times (run time was about 3 seconds).  You can start it with the key and then shut it off and the remote start will work fine.  I've let the car sit for about 4 to 5hrs and unit still works good.  But when left over night the thing starts and stops 3 times then just sits there.  Tried a new 555l module but didn't help.  Checked and rechecked all wiring.  Anybody seen this before??   Is the 555l losing its memory somehow?

Are you a tachless or tach?

I went tachless.  It doesn't keep cranking after it starts.

try this... let the vehicle sit over night and then insert the key into the ignition and remote start it.  If it works then you have problem with the bypass, but if does and dies out then try going tach.

Tach  Signal:

WHITE

AT TOP OF ENGINE

The tach wire input would be used so the remote starter knows when to quit cranking the engine and as it is now the remote starter is shutting down when the engine starts just like it should, so I'm thinking the tach input will not make a difference.
