I'm planning on installing a remote starter but i didn't want to install it in the typical place---under the dash.  I was planning on installing it under my center console where i rest my arm when i drive.  I wanted to know if the length of the wres matter at all?  I would run the wires from under the center console to under the radio then to under the dash.

The legth of wire does matter but being only a couple of feet extra, I would not worry about it too much. If it were in the back of the car, then I would say to increase the gauge of wires but for only 2 feet, I wouldn't even bother.
