MAKE SURE that you confirm the lowest idle RPM that the alternator will charge.  I bought one from 4alterstart, and they advertise that it is good for my truck (but must idle at 700 RPM).  HOWEVER, in reality, there is no direct and easy way for me to raise my idle speed myself.  To top it off, an overdrive pulley is already installed.

So, three mornings in the past 2 weeks, my battery was dead.  Unacceptable.  I put back the stock unit.  They will be replacing it for a bigger STOCK unit.

you can try one from dominick Irragi, He makes some of the best Comp style alternators.   They produce full OUtput at 800 RPM engine speed.    These and ohio generators are the only companys that I think have true output ratings.
You can get ahold of Dom at dominick@tds.net   let him know the make and model of your vehicle, And he will let you know pricing.    They are not cheap though!   My 200 amp for my civic was $400 but well worth every cent
