Good afternoon I am new to the fourms and have a question about an install on a 2004 chevy express van. I installed a BOA remote starter last week end along with the 555L by pass kit and the units seems to wrk great! I am in the controlls business so I am handy with most wiring but I have two issues I havent been able to figure out.

1) The security light stays on in the dash all the time the van is running including when I start with the key. Any idea why?

2) My remote works great some times from in the house and other times I have to get within 10 feet of the vehicle for the signal to start?

I have checked all the paper work and found one thing about mounting that may cause the intermitin problem but I did not secure the modual to any metal surface and the antana is routed allong the plastic dsah pannel. If any one has any input I would be very greatful for a fix!!

Thank you

This will fix your security light problem use a relay.....from your passlock (ground while running) wire attach pins 86 and 87 to that wire BEFORE your 555L    pin 85 goes to your pink Ign wire with a diode inline cathode towards the relay   pin 30 to ground.....

For your remote....I would change the battery first, no matter how new it is.

Second, where is the antenna mounted for the R/S.....?

Mount it as high as poss. without getting behind the sun strip on the glass. Window tint also will degrade the signal

Thank you!!! Ill give it a try and see what happens. The antenna is routed up the dash panel to the top of the dash. I have moved it several times and dont seem to matter. I diddnt think to try the bat. but Ill give it a shot THANKS!
