Hi peps, i gotta few questions for ya all...

I currently hav a Pioneer GM-D510M Mono amp, its rated at

500RMS @ 2 OHM

1000W Max @ 2 OHM

300RMS @ 4 OHM

600W Max @ 4 OHM

Wat i want to know is whether i can run two Alpine Type-R subs off the single mono amp? I kno they cum in either Dual 2 OHM or Dual 4 OHM, and ya can wire the dual 4 ohm so it runs at 2ohms, but im kinda keen on gettin two of them going if possible. Any help is muchly appreciated :D

Get the dual 2 ohm models.  Voice coils get linked in series to make 4 ohms, then the two 4 ohm subs are connected in parallel for a total 2 ohm impedance.

So wat will the subs be pushing? Will it be 500W max each, giving a total of 1000W max. Will it be worth putting in two of these subs wen i can just run a single one and get the same power?

Power handling RMS of a type R sub is 300 watts, isn't it?  Use two and split the 500 watts RMS the amp puts out. (250 watts for each sub)

Stevdart has it right. Also, don't even look at max wattage ratings - they mean nothing.
