what kind of car do you have? maybe you can have a factory alarm disarm wire on the car, so you do not have to use the lock and unlock for remote start. if you do not have a disarm wire... there is an auxilary plug that came with the 996. it is a 4 pin plug wiht black wires with different colored stripes. one is a neg. before crank, and one is a neg. after remote start. you can tie these into the lock and unlock wires so that when you remote start it will unlock the doors to let the car start and lock them after the car starts. i have not run into a car that would not crank if the doors were locked though. hmmm, but i have not done all cars either.

directechs says that there is no factory alarm. when you try to remote start the car and it is locked does the car crank? if not did you make sure to put the thick yellow wire from the remote start to the motor side of the starter kill? if not then that is why you have to disarm before you remote start.

Thanks... I will try that this weekend.
I will also ground the car alarm out on a bolt in the engine instead of the chassis as right now I get zapped everytime I step out of the vehicle.
Thanks again.
