Greetings all -
I have a 1997 Chevy Tahoe LS - 2WD.
I installed a Valet 561R remote starter per the instructions given with the unit. Everything works great except the tap off of the tach signal doesn't seem to make the head unit happy enough, so I configured the starter to crank for 800ms, and all seems well.
Except for the "Service Engine Light" which is now illuminated in the cluster.
And except for the fact that when I start the truck with the remote, the transmission seems to have 'forgotten' how to shift - took it over to the Autozone for reading out the OBD codes and it states errors with the shifting and the torque convertor.
This morning I go out and start the truck with the key, and she shifts fine.
After a few trips (using the key to start) everything seems to be working well and shifting fine.
Start it with the remote starter and it shifts poorly again.
This one has me stumped.
Any ideas?

Power the second/third ignition wires, should be smaller gauge white wire and pink/white in the ign harness.

Do I power it with the Ignition output? The guide for my truck here on the forum lists 3 ignition wires - should those all by wired in parallel and connected to the ignition output of the RS?

Do you have any idea what is happening that causes my trans to act like that?
Thanks for the help!

your starter has two ign and one acc
your truck has two ign and one acc
pink and pink/white will be pink and white in your truck.

Do not drive your vehicle after remote starting it until you get this fixed. You will damage your transmission, if you haven't already.

Actually, my truck has 3 Ign and one acc (according to the data on this site):
Ignition : Pink
Ignition 2 : white
Ignition 3 : Brown
Accessory : Orange
Do I just connect Ign, Ing2 and Acc? My starter does have two IGN
outputs...

All of those models vehicles I have just powered the pink and the white wires for ignition and has worked out fine. If you did need a third ign or a second acc.. you would use a relay to power them up. Do not hook two factory wires to one comming from the remote.... always use a relay.....hope this helps...
