Not quite getting the 3000 Foot range, im wondering where the antenna is best mounted? I know the 1 way units the antenna is supposto be mounted in the middle near the top of the windshield, but the 2 way units have a different  type of antenna that I just mounted 4 inches from the left side C pillar.  I actually did read the manual to see if I Could find where to mount, but they don't have anything in there on it. And this is an "Autostart" brand not just an autostart.

I think you mean up to 3000 ft as they indicated on the user manual. You won't get that either unless you have the perfect condition as in an open field without any interference as indicated in the manual.
I personally like to mount them on the diverside top corner with the blue led lighting up dash. Someone of my colleague like to mount them right in the centre where the rearview mirror is because of cosmetic reason. I don't believe it makes much of a difference where it is on the windshield as long as you stay away from other anntenna and power wires. If you want a bit more distance put the remote underneath your chin when you are remote starting you will find signal going much further. My 2 cent.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.Autostart 2 Way Antenna placement? -- posted image.
