I have a 04 avalanche that I installed a matrix 3.5 on.  I am attempting to use the bitwriter to have remote one tied to driver 1 and remote 2 to driver 2.  How is this possible?  I have called dei/clifford and they say that it is possible but that since I am not a cetified installer that I must take it to one.  But they said you must have a bitwriter to do such a thing.  Any ideas?

Yes you must have the bitwriter to program remotes as remote 1 and remote 2. Basicly you do your settings, hit write, choose which remote you are using(last remote the alarm saw will always be the default remote shown, if doing settings for all remotes then choose remote 0), then click write again, repeat for additional remotes.
You change remotes by hitting select, I think it is select, if you can't figure it out I will go grab my bitwriter.

Are you asking in the sense that Driver 1 versus Driver 2 sets the seats, mirrors, etc for the postion of the selected driver?

Right.  Do I need to change some wiring or can this be done via the bitwriter?  If I do need to change some wiring where do I need to look?

As far as I know you can not do this.  What DEI meant is you can program the alarm remotes individually and control the ALARM/REMOTE START functions differently, not the seats/mirrors/etc.
