04 Toyota Avalon disarming factory system

   I just put a R.S unit on this vehicle and I am having trouble getting the factory system diarmed. I have used the RED / yellow wire at the theft module(behind the glovebox) That did not work. I tried the RED / yellow wire at the ignition switch(keysense) and that did not work. The r.s unit will start up fine with no factory alarm going off as long as the doors are unlocked. I know it arms with lock and disarms with unlock. Please let me know if you have run into this before.Brian

Depending on the type of unit you are using. Try this. There is a feature on the unit that will open up the doors (disarming the factory alarm) before it remotes start. Once the car has started, a few seconds later it locks the car up. They will usually have some fancy term for this feature call "SMART LOCK, INTELLIGENT START, SECURE LOCK" something like that. Anyways, to make the story short. Look for the feature that open the door to disarm factory alarm, start the car, close the door back up once the run is running. Hope this helps.   Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.
