What brand/model starter are you installing?
The best way to figure out the color is to locate the switch above the pedal.

I am installing a phoenix digital pd-175. It was a Chrismas gift and I am pretty low on cash now so I am doing it myself. I am pretty good at doing these things, so I think with a little help from you pros. it will be no problem for me. Thanks again for all your help
Thanks, Donny

The wire is Dark GREEN / WHITE NEG(-) @ the switch on the parking brake!

Unless its a manual trans.....you shouldn't need the parking brake wire for a remote start!!

I have a 2001 silverado and when I open the passenger door the dome light does not come on and the security light does not come on if the key is not in the ign., unlike the drivers door. I have not done anything to it yet,so I know it nothing I did. How do I solve this problem.

Please Help

Thanks, Donny

Sounds like a problem in the door latch, which is where the wires are that connect to turn on the domelight.  try taking the door panel off and looking to see if anything is loose, if not you can always install a doorpin and hook it up to the domelight so that when it is open, it triggers the domelight.
