I just did an install on a 2000 civic and I used the light GREEN/ red wire found on the factory alarm plug which is just right of the steering column.  I am pretty sure that your car has it in the same spot, it is easier to get to and access than in the kick panel.

2000 is a different body style. Go to the kick panel like soundfx said.

If you still can't find it. Get it at the Door pin.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.1995 honda civic door trigger -- posted image.
