i recently bought a 1.5 farad phoenix digital capacitor. And the install manual says that i need to have a distribution block. I thought that i could just run the power wire from the battery to the cap and another power wire from the cap to my rockford fosgate amp. I am working with a rockford fasgate amp and two dual 12"s in a bandpass box in the back of my 92 honda civic. Any imput about this would help.

There's no reason to use a distro block when you're using only one amp. Your thoughts are correct on how to hook up the cap. Keep it close to the amp, ground it separately to the chassis. Same power wire gauge before and after the cap, and match the gauge to the ground wiring.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

thanks for your confirmation. I thought of some thing else will it hurt to install it in the freezing cold the temp where i live is 9 degrees

The cold is hard on anything that drains / recharges. As long as you have it hooked up right, its no problem. If the cars battery dies you should probably dissconnect the cap and re-connect it. Because with the charging system totally drained you'll be trying to fill it all at once. If the cap tries to fill all at once it may arc or damage it. Use the resistor across the terminals.

why not use a dist block. That way if you ever add anything else you won't have to run power all over.

that might be true but i don't really plan on adding more. If i do i am ripping everything out and starting from scratch.
