I have a 2005 focus zx4 ses. i am trying to figure out how to remove the stereo and front bezel without breaking anything =p it does not have the standard usual ford removal holes to use the normal removal tool, there are no holes or screws of any kind on the front. does anyone know about the 2005?
thanks

I do not know specifically about the Focus, but generally with other cars, if you do not see any visible screws then the dash trim is usually held in place by friction fittings.  These fittings just pop into place and you have to pry "gently" around the edges of the trim to get them to come up.  Just go slowly and look to see where the trim seems to be not letting go and try to get a feel for where the center of each "not letting go" area is.  That's usually where the friction fittings are at.

Now that's for if you just have to have it off now.  I would suggest contacting Crutchfield.  This is a car stereo catalog.  Website is www.crutchfield.com  They usually will be able to sell you a set of instructions for your vehicle for about $5 that should tell you everything on how to do it.

You might also try to look on this site to see if it has instructions, or also try www.installdr.com  Install doctor's wire colors have been known to not be correct sometimes though.  Therefore I don't know if they are completely trustworthy.  But it could be a place to start anyway.  Kinda use it as a guide and go from there.

I just did it the other day. The dash around the stereo just pops out, it is held by clips, however the top part is hard to get out - clips are too tight, so take it easy. Once the trim is out just unscrew the 4 screws around the radio and it's out. make sure you get the right kit for the car. I thinkthe AI # is FMK-538 - not same as '04 Focus, or '05 F-150. Let me know if this helped.

It's the same harness used for the '04-'05 F-150, Expedition. I believe Metra #70-5520, and the kit is Metra #99-5808. Double check though.
