Hi all, I put in a flip down monitor in my 04 accord and was trying to have the monitor's dome light work with my factory dome lights. the monitor has 3 wires a red, yellow and black.. I hooked the black to ground and red to 12 volts and the yellow to the other wire on the dome light harness. Work fine with turning the light on and off but not with the doors opening/closing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

Thats strange. You hooked it up all correctly and it doesnt work. Is there a switch on the monitor that controls the dome lights...... like if you open the doors it will turn on or you could just turn the switch off and the dome light wont turn on with the doors open. If theres a switch....maybe you just have it on the off position.

Your wires are wrong then. i dont know the wiring for your car but you have to know if your car is positive trigger or negative trigger. if you dont know how to figure this out, just try different wire combos, until you get it right, just dont let them touch. it shouldnt take long. sounds like the door trigger and MAYBE your 12v wire are backwards
