If the polarity is reversed it would kill your bass. Double check all of you wiring.
I myself drive a 69 Blazer LS (same body style). Just know that with 6 speakers, each is probally only getting about 10 watts RMS. You may just want to add a small 4 channel amp to the door speakers and leave to dash speakers powered by the deck. Somthing in the 30 - 50 watt range would be good to power the doors.
But before you buy anything check your wiring, and take the bass blockers off the front speakers.
Your HU has a HPF and a LPF. Turn the HPF on at 80HZ. This is a good cutoff point for 6.5's.

I had bass before the new HU and dash speakers were added but that was with the stock HU. If I had the wires reversed on the door speakers would I have had no bass or just poor quality ? I am going to take the blockers off tonight but I will have to wait to double check the wiring on the door speakers.  Thanks for the help
