yea ive been playing with the pot on the dei shock sensor so with a light tap the led on it would light up for just a moment and then nothing would come out from the alarm.  when the shock sensor was hit hard the led would stay on for a little while and then trigger the full alarm sequence

thanks guys for all your help so far, this was my first alarm install.

ive done all the audio in my car and a carputer but an alarm was a whole new undertaking

Ok guys.

I'm an idiot.  The reason why it wasn't giving warn away signals was because i never hooked up the the warn away signal wire (green wire) on the shock sensor.  When I first installed it I just plugged the harness into the brain and called it a day.  But after going over the manual again it says to cut the green wire on the harness that is connected to the blue (full output) wire I suppose and connect the two green wires together as one.  Now it all works.

Well thanks guys for all your help.  Man I was really getting frustrated with this thing.
