Get a regulated power supply to power the amp. The input signal you can use from any source ( CD player, tape player, DVD, VCR, etc ). Just use a jumper wire from the 12 volts to the remote turn on and it will work for you.

you can can get a power supply from your local radio shack for less than 40. hook the amp ground to the (-) on the power supply. hook the remote wire to the (+) output on the power supply to get the amp to turn on.

Also you have to make sure that the speakers that you are powering can support a 4 ohm stereo load. Just make suer of this before you power up any speakers.

stick the box in a corner  and load it up.. you might wanna check the power supply you have.. if the voltage is dropping, no power.. that little 5amp, radio shack inverter not going to cut.. might want to look into getting an Astron power supply

Depends on the amp... remember a basic rule........ watt / voltage = Amps

in other words, if you have a 120 watt amp, with 12 volts, you need 10amp power supply.. of course, that's with a 100% effiency rating.. and we all know AMPS ARE 100%, Right??!?!?!?!!! yeah.. right..

A little Ohms law basic math is all that's needed here..
