what are you asking about, amp speakers? either way i would go with alpine. sony make junk, just open one of their amps or decks and look at the circuitry. or listen to a sony amp or deck compared to an alpine. same goes with speakers, you will hear the difference

Well, I disagree that Sony makes junk, but Alpine has the better reputation in car audio.  But I do have a pair of Sonys in my truck and they play pretty nicely.  Since this is an in-home stereo you're building, I'd suggest listening to the speakers you might buy.  They will sound pretty close to what they sound like on display in the store in your house.  In a car, that's a different story.  Location has everything to do with how they sound.  In your house, you can put them wherever you want for best sound.

Where did you get the idea that he was doing this in a house. The pioneer deh-345 is a car deck. You need to tell us what kinda equipment you are looking for, but in most cases alpine is gonna be a better choice

he says it in another post. i am just curious, why the hell are you putting a deck in your house? with the voltage converter it would be less expensive to just get a cd player and receiver with an amp in it. it will sound better too
