another question for the night. is 14-15 volts ok for amps and sq? i did all my grounds including engine, batt, and amps and am getting about 15 volts with my dmm and on the in dash meter. 16v when revving the engine

i believe with enging running your normal voltage you will see is like 13.4-13.8V so you should be ok in the 14 range...if you read up to 16 volts your alternator may be overcharging your battery...which i dont believe will harm your equipment but may lower your cars battery life...

Most good quality amplifiers will have built in over voltage protection. If yours does then your ok. If it doesn't then you are running the risk of frying the amp.
