Has anyone successfully replaced their stock stereo and amp with an aftermarket one?
If so, would you please post in with information on what brand and type of interfaces you used to successfully do so.
Since the electronics have been changed in 2005 owners of older models need not reply.
Help from any installers who have worked on 2005 models would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

The 05' Hummer is the same as previous models. The same interfaces will work in the 05' models as well, no problem.

Jazzy,
I asked my installer and they said pac was too complicated(2 pieces and you have to remove fuse when you bring it in???) they said they tried it on several 05 installs and it doesn't work well.
I'm still waiting for Soundgates new interface they told me they're still working out the bugs..gonna ask my installer again about pac tomorrow..

It looks like you will need the Metra VT-GMOS-04. It will let you connect an aftermarket Head-unit and keep your ONstar, door and warning chimes, and bose amplifieds speakers.

The Soundgate peices should be shipping sometime this week i heard, They are pretty easy to install and are less expensive the the PAC peices. It is all one piece by the way. You will need the digistar-X.
