I'm installing an ultra start 4255 series and wondering how to pre-wire the harness to make things go quicker. will i need to install any relays also? i have a '94 pontiac bonneville that i believe has (+) power locks, unlocks wiring.i think the the ultra has negative(-) wires off the brain for locks so i think i'll need relays here?  my car only has 1st igintion only so do i leave the jumper on the default seting which is #3? thanks.

Always one wire at a time is the quickest. Take all the wire that needs to be connected and tape up the rest of the wire that you think you don't need. Ask questions when you don't understand something or unsure of. Never AssUme. There are lots of people who can help you out. Don't be afraid to ask if you need help.

thanks for the info. i'm not sure which lock type i have only that it is postive(+). when the polarity is opposite on each end of the wire than a relay is neccessary? is that a way to distigish of relay is needed? thanks.

does the car have factory keyless entry?  if it does, it should have a double wide relay sitting behind the passenger glove box, on the right.  the relay assy will have 6 wires, the light blu on is lock, the black on is unlock.  both wires take a positive to make pdl's to work.  u will need 2 relays between vehicle lock wiring & 4255 module.  u can buy a 'polarity inverter', nice & small & will inverter a negative signal to a positive one, great for power lock use.  of course a polarity inverter is solid state, & has low current capability, fine for your use here.  but be careful with them for other uses.

the jumper can stay in position 3, since the white wire will not be connected.

currently i have a viper210hv keyless entry and that had decent range til i installed a boa remote car starter and after trying everything (to have same range before the boa) with the antenna and seperate power wires from battery no luck in correcting it. seems like theres conflict or something. so gonna scrap them both and install an ultra 4255. might be alittle confusing since the polarity is different than dei's. been getting great help from these question posted and should be able to install one faeture at a time. can the factory horn(honk) be connected to the siren wire?

u can hook up siren wire to a relay, then relay output to the horn wire at steering column,  horn trigger is a negative (ground) to turn on, need relay also for current.
