Hey guys.  I figured some of you might enjoy seeing our Parthenon subwoofer under excursion.  Here's the link: http://www.woofervids.com/displayimage.php?album=7&pos=0

that looks rather inappropriate! lol. So when are you going to put a cone on it? What kind of power are you putting to it?

It's powered by a 250 watt amplifier.  And oddly enough, they call these types of video's "speaker porn".

Very cool video.  No need for a "cone."  How about a 36" square reinforced fiberglass panel in a resonance chamber tuned to 16Hz just to shake a 100 seat theatre and put out that periodic 125db punch in the gut?  Video of the longest excursion sub -- posted image.

The cone we have for it is a 24" square piece.  It has more displacement than 12 of our Tumults.  Just sitting there without an enclosure it is capable of 121 dB at 20 Hz.  Here's a link to more info: http://www.adireaudio.com/TextPages/ParthenonPageFrameText.htm

BTW, the "cone" is a piece of balsa wood with some sort of fiberglass reinforcement.  It's some special material they use at NASA that is pretty expensive.  But it is super light and VERY strong.  We can go up to 48" if you really want some output.  Video of the longest excursion sub -- posted image.  We can also scale it up with more excursion if you want as well.  The suspension on that thing is good out to over 100 mm one way.  That is where the Cms is down by 10%.
