Hello,

I recently got a 5.6 inch LCD monitor for my car (mounting it on my dash).  I was trying to power it by hooking it up to my stereo's +12V wire.  Everything works fine for like a minute, then turns off as a fuse gets blown.  The first time i blew out the radio 10A fuse, so i just replaced it with a spare.  The second time though, I blew out my stereo's 0.5A fuse (i split the +12v after the 0.5a fuse and tied it in there).  The monitor also seems to be getting either underpowered or overpowered.. i seem to be getting power, but settings like hue/contrast/brightness seem to do nothing and the display doesn't look right.

The specsheet for the monitor says it draws less than 7.2W, using 12V +/- 10%.  I've used my digital multimeter on the line and it seems like a good 12V.  Using I = 7.2/12 do i need to add some type of 0.5A resistor or something to power this thing?  I can't figure it out.  Thanks in advance.
