So, I just recieved 3 of these "new" 457G data modules from DEI. Opened one up, had a look, thought "hmmm... looks suspiciously familiar". Grabbed a GMDATAALL (Automobility). Surprise surprise. Same thing.
So... now, I am wondering. I have had numerous comebacks due to the GMDATA ALL's complete lack of remembering things when battery power has been removed, not working on Envoys and TrailBlazers, leaving door ajar messages on instrument clusters in FS Trucks, not shutting the RAP off on some vehicles, etc. Will this DEI module be prone to the same quirks? The parts count, chipset, everything is almost identical to the Automobility piece. Has anyone used the 457G, pulled battery power on the vehicle , to see of it looses programming. If it does.... grrrr.

Update: Just for fun, swapped a 457G into the manager's 2004 C/K series.... learns Passlock, does door trigger properly.... no doorlocks at all though.
Wherever I go, that is where I end up......
