I am have trouble to eliminate the engine noise after I install an amplifier in a car. I used a 4 guage power wire. I have the audio signal wire wiring up on the same side of the car.

Check this discussion on this very same topic. It's contriversial in that it says you don't have to run them seperately.

i personally disagree, i think that some people can get away with that, maybe even most people, but it is good practice to run them on other sides. if you are having problems with engine noise, that would be the first thing i would change. other than running your rcas on a seperate side, check you grounds and all connections. make sure all your wiring is clean. i almost guarantee that your issue is having the wires on the same side.

I have found that its very few times that engine noise is introduced from simply running the RCA's on the same side as the power wire. Its almost always a poor ground. Remember that even if a ground looks good, check it with a DMM because there are some vehicles that are just hell to get a good ground in, like J bodies
