I have just purchased second hand volt meter and ampere meter gauges, can someone pls help me as I have no idea how to wire them in!  LOL

The voltage guage simply needs to be wired in parallel to the (a) power source, this can be from the fuse block, or directly to the battery.
If the guage has a back light, then you will need to wire it to a switched 12 VDC source. The other end obviously needs to be connected to a clean paint free and solid chassis ground, using a star washer and dielectric grease compond.
The amperage / current meter must be wired in series to the power source. Correct polarity must be observed if using a pin / sweeping dial guage.
Otherwise, the guage will be permently damaged.
Both of the guage should be fused within 18" of the power source.

amp meter....cut supply cable to whatever you want to measure and stick one end on one teminal of ammeter and other cable to the other termianl.... <~~~~Layman terms

what for amp meter for car....
voltmeter to know the voltage of battery and charging system....
ampere meter?

ampere meter....used to see how Current"power" is being rawn out of the battery, different to volts...very imortant and often forgotten

This is a TIM amp gauge, is it that simple? Run a wire from battery to gauge, other terminal to where?
