Hello gurus!

I need help with installing this alarm/remote start into my 05 6.0 diesel, specifically the tach source.  I have the wiring diagrams, and have found the factory grn/wht tach wire behind the fuse box.  Problem is, my DMM is showing 26 or so volts AC, going up to 27 or so with reved throttle when I test the wire.  My test procedure: truck off, red probe to wire, black probe to chassis ground.  Start engine, reading jumps to mid 20's ac.  Double checked with an older analog meter, same results.

I don't want to hook anything up until I resove this test problem.  On another note, does anyone know a source for the tach inverter/booster unit I might need to hook up to the tach wire if the signal is to weak?  I have tried Ford-key and Code Alarm directly, along with local shops. No one can seem to locate this part for me.  Ford part number is 102818-2

The rest of the install seems pretty straightforward.  Thanks for any help you can provide!

Matt

If you can program your remote start for voltage sensing do that. it works better than tach sensing for fords
