I just installed a 2w900fmas unit on a 2005 f150, I got it all done, installed the security bypass, tested everything as I went including remote starting it, arm and disarm, door locks, dome light supervision with a relay, everything.

I got all done wiring and put everything under the dash, and now nothing happens when I push the tach learn button on the brain and it will not learn the remote anymore, but when I cycle the key on and off 5 times the brain clicks like it is supposed to.

I checked all the fuses and checked all the wiring, unplugged it and the replugged it in, stilling nothing, so I took the brain out and plugged it into a car with the same setup, same thing happens.

Now here is the retarted thing on my part. I took the good brain out of the car that was working fine and plugged it in to the f150, I just plugged in the main wiring harness and the tach button worked, so I proceeded to plug everything else in and when I was done plugging the other harnessed in the good brain now acts like the other one. Nothing smells burnt and all the wiring checks out. Any ideas? Also is there a way to reset these brains to factoy?

WHAT DID I DO, PLEASE TELL ME I DIDNT COOK TWO BRAINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111

Try cycle the Key between ( ACCESSORY AND ON ) FIVE TIME AND NOT ON OFF FIVE TIME. I make the same mistake as you sometime because I am so use to Autostart that does it on off rather than ACC and ON.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.Compustar CM3000 Brain Problem -- posted image.

well that is what I meant, I am not going all the way to the acc I am just turning it like you are supposed to and the brain cycles, but when I push the button to use the remote, the remote does not see the brain, plus the brain tach button should work all the time, even when I just plug in the main harness and it doesnt. Is there a way that I may have reset it or something? Can I reset it myself?

Have a closer look at the antenna and the antenna pins in the brain.

I checked the antenna wire very well, and it is all fine, I even changed the wire out. But I still cant figure out why the tach learn button doesnt work. everything else works, I plug it into the main harness and cycle the key and the brain clicks and the parking lights flash. i dont get it. Does anyone know how to reset the brains?

Had this happen to me once on a 1999 Chevy PU that I had to fix for antoehr installer. He had the tach learned and everything and for some reason the system would not remote start. After I fixed his wiring problem, I couldn't relearn the tach on the unit because the tach button didn't give me a resonse. I double checked his wiring for the tach and it was correct. What had happended was that the battery drained in the process of him installing the system and when I came to finish the system, I tried to relearn the system with a dead or near dead battery and it didn't give me a proper reading. I charged up the battery and replaced the CPU and it fired up properly with the wiring it had.

Another thing to look for is that you have the proper antenna for the system. Make sure it's a 2W900FM antenna and not the 2W433FM antennna

well, I checked the battery and it is normal, as well as the antenna it is the correct one. What do you mean you changed out the cpu? also I am not sure if I mention this before, but it was all working before, the remote worked, the tach worked, door locks, and remote start, it just stopped working when I tied everything up under the dash. I will also remind you that it did that same thing to another brain. Do you mean you replaced the brain when you say you replaced the cpu?

make sure that your neg.glow plug wire isn't grounded out, and make sure that the system isn't in valet, i have found that with a VOLTAGE SPIKE OR DROP the systems go into valet automatically.
sweet.
