I recently installed a very basic add-on remote start module to a 1998 Grand Prix.  Everything works perfectly, except the dome lights are on all the time (except when I pull the fuse, of course).  Also, there is a clicking sound behind the glove compartment, which also does stop when the dome light fuse is pulled.  There are no wires from the remote start to the dome lights.  Also, I disconnected the battery for about an hour to "reset" the computer.  Any suggestions on a fix for this would be greatly appreciated.

well you have a few wires a neutral saftey. ground. pos, ignition wire., accessory wire, brake shutdown , this is weired did you have to do anything special to get this working and also did you use a domelight supervision wire from remote start i cant imagine that happening something is not right tell me exactly what alarm you used and where you connected each wire tell me wire colors from both your car and to the remote start unit, and also tell me year and make of your car.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

First of all (I'll admit this may be a mistake, but...) the module is an IMPULSE RES Remote Start System.

Here's a list of the wires which I spliced into on the car and the function according to the owner's manual of the module:

--UNDER DASH - IGNITION HARNESS--

RED - 12V Constant (+)
PINK - True Ignition (+)
WHITE - 15A 2nd Ignition Output (+)
ORANGE - Accessories Output (+)
YELLOW - Crank Output (+)

--ABOVE BRAKE PEDAL--

WHITE - Brake Pedal Input (+)

--HEADLIGHT SWITCH--

BROWN - 15A / 50A Inrush Parking Lights Output (+)

--DRIVER KICK PANEL--

TAN - Start Initiate Input (+)

...and a ground wire.

That's everything that I connected.
